MEDIATION SERVICES

Mediation is a confidential, alternative dispute settlement process designed to help parties reach a settlement of their disputes on agreeable terms, with the mediator acting as a facilitator for the settlement discussions.  Mediations can be scheduled either before or after a suit is filed or after a suit has been litigated for some period of time.

 

Michael is a Florida Supreme Court certified Circuit Court mediator with experience mediating disputes in the following practice areas:

  • Title Insurance

  • Real Estate Litigation

  • Mortgage Foreclosures

  • Quiet Title Actions

  • Eminent Domain

  • Contract Disputes

  • Commercial Litigation

  • Condominium and HOA Disputes


SCHEDULE OF MEDIATION SERVICES AND RATES

 

LOCATION:  Mediations are via Zoom or in person at a location chosen by the parties.  

SERVICES: Included in the mediation fee is review of any documents provided by the parties prior to the mediation, travel time to and from the mediation (within Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, or Polk County), and the mediation session. 

RATES: Standard rates are provided below.  

Pre-Suit Condo or HOA - $275.00 per hour

Two (2) Parties - $160.00 per hour per party
Three (3) Parties - $140.00 per hour Per party
Four (4) Parties - $120.00 per hour per party
Five or more Parties - $100.00 per hour per party

Half-day mediations have a two hour minimum and full-day mediations  have a four hour minimum. 

MEDIATION MATERIALS: The parties are encouraged to provide a mediation statement and any pertinent documents at least two business days prior to the scheduled mediation. Mediation statements do not need to be in the form of a formal pleading and may be in any form that you believe would assist the mediator and other parties in understanding your position. The parties are encouraged to exchange copies of their mediation statements, but you may submit your confidential mediation statement directly to the mediator.


CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellation notice must be received at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled start of the mediation to avoid a one-hour cancellation fee.


PAYMENT: Charges are billed directly to the parties' attorneys who will be responsible for payment, which is expected within twenty (20) days of mediation services and may be made via check or credit card (subject to processing fees).
